SBRIT Clinician - MA Level

Clinician provides mental health services to school aged children designated in special education or other programs within the area school districts.  Works as part of a special education team, serving high-risk, culturally diverse, emotionally behaviorally disturbed students


  • Provide individual, group, and family treatment, case management and support services to identified school children and their families.
  • Complete pyschosocial assessments, assess problem areas and strengths; evaluate client needs.
  • Perform collateral liaison duties within the school setting, and with other community agencies as it relates to individual clinical cases.
  • Develop working relationships with potential referral sources and advocate for client and family needs.
  • Collaboratively develop and maintain an effective educational/therapeutic team within the school.
  • Other duties may be assigned.


  • A wide range of emotional and behavioral problems in children and adolescents;
  • The presenting problems of the entire family unit;
  • Communicating effectively with collateral agencies having contact with the child and/or family;
  • Early intervention and prevention as well as time effective treatment; 
  • Demonstrated skills in clinical assessment and treatment of families;
  • Community mental health systems, the public schools, DCFS, and resources within King County is highly desirable; and
  • Ability to work well independently is necessary.


  • Mental Health Professional (MHP) designation required.
  • Washington State driver's license and insurable driving record required.
  • Must be able to obtain a WA State Agency Affiliated Counselor credential within the first 60 days of hire.
  • Washington State licensure LICSW, LMHC or LMFT, preferred.
  • Must pass a criminal background check.


To successfully perform the essential duties of this position, an individual must be able to sit at a desk for four or more hours a day, and use office equipment, including phones and computer keyboards, for four or more hours per day. Individuals must be able to engage vendors, team members, clients and others over the phone and in-person by voice. Regular attendance is an essential function of the position.
